When was the last time someone in power asked for your voice, ideas, vision - for shaping this country?
For 250 years, the Constitution has shaped who holds power, and who is kept at the margins. The People’s Bill of Rights 250 begins a different chapter: one where the Constitution is not distant or fixed, but living, shaped, and claimed by the people themselves.
All are welcome here. Across differences and divides, everyday Americans come together - not to argue, but to imagine. To deliberate. To decide what rights this moment demands, and what future we are brave enough to write.
This is about continuing the work - opening the doors that were once closed, and making sure those who were left out when the Constitution was first written, now have a real voice in shaping what comes next.
If democracy is meant to be more than a promise - if it is something we make real, together - then consider this your invitation.
1. SPEAK UP: Start with your voice. Share the rights you believe this country should guarantee, and see where your ideas connect with others across the country.
2. SHOW UP: Step into a small, live conversation. Listen, reflect, and work together to shape those ideas into clear, actionable rights we can stand behind.
3. STEP UP: The strongest ideas are written into real constitutional amendments. Then, you and others across the country cast your vote to decide what moves forward. We organize, advocate, and push for adoption through Congress and the states. When 38 states ratify them, they become part of the Constitution.
WE ARE ASKING THE QUESTIONS THAT WILL SHAPE OUR NATION. BE PART OF THE ANSWER. HAVE YOUR SAY.
Deliberation #1: Representation
How can we ensure every vote counts equally and the government answers to the people over special interests?
Deliberation #2: Safety
How do we create a country where everyone feels safe, in their homes, their schools, their communities, and in their interactions with the government?
Deliberation #3: Health
How should healthcare in America work so every American can access healthcare, and no one goes bankrupt or dies because they couldn’t afford to see a doctor?
Deliberation #4: Dignity
What should be the basic things this country guarantees everyone - so people have a real shot at a stable home, a good education, and a life beyond poverty?
Deliberation #5: Equality
What should equal treatment look like in this country - in our laws and in everyday life - for people of all genders, sexual orientations, races, and backgrounds, and how should we address discrimination when it occurs?
Deliberation #6: Peace
How should decisions about war be made - and what role should the American public have in deciding when and how our government enters or funds it?
Deliberation #7: Environment
What should be guaranteed when it comes to clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment - and how do we protect it for our children and our grandchildren?
Deliberation #8: Voice
How should we protect or expand the freedoms to speak, worship, assemble, and petition - and how do we navigate the roles of government, corporations, and tech in shaping those rights?
Deliberation #9: Indigenous Rights & Sovereignty
How should the government uphold its treaties and commitments to Tribal nations? What resources and authority should Tribal nations have to govern themselves and steward their lands?
Deliberation #10: Government for the People
How can we guard against corruption, concentrated power, and threats to free and fair elections? How do we ensure we, the people, come first?
